Distribution transformer is electrical equipment which can directly deliver electric energy to the low-voltage user. Its operational data is an important component in the basic data distribution network. In the actual distribution network, a large number of distribution transformer scatter everywhere. It is a pivotal problem of how to send the operational data of the distribution transformer to the monitoring center.In recent years, the mobile communication network has developed so rapidly that it covers a large scale in the country, and quality is also improving continuously. Using GPRS public information network is a new idea to realize monitoring with scattering electric equipment. This is a new type of communication way used in electric system.This paper presents a distribution transformer remote monitoring system based on GPRS, which makes use of the GPRS data transmission and internet access terminals module functions to realize the two-side data transmission between Monitoring Center and Terminals.The system consists of there parts: the distribution transformer sub-station, the GPRS communication network and the distribution monitoring center. This paper focuses on the design of the distribution monitoring sub-station based on the MSP430F149 and GR47 GPRS module, including the hardware design and software design. Meanwhile, it also introduces some related theory and algorithm applied to the terminal design: FFT, alternating synchronous sampling algorithm. After that, this paper describes the GPRS communication network protocols, the establishing process of wireless data transmission and communication link, and the detailed use of GR47 GPRS module. Finally, this paper simply introduces the functions of monitoring center; the method of the center receives the data from the remote GPRS terminals, and the power parameters display interface of distribution transformer.The use of GPRS communication network provides a powerful skill for improving t of the automation technology level of the distribution management .It can significantly reduce the cost of construction and maintenance, so it has s wide application potential.
