Stock Management System Based On Two-dimensional Bar Code Technology And Image Compression Technology

Along with the development of science and technology, the two-dimensional bar code PDF417 as one kind of brand-new information storage, transmission and automatic identification technology has been widely applied in various fields. The images as the information carrier have huge data. The huge data hinders its storage, transmission and processing. Therefore, in order to reduce data storage space and enhance the transmission speed, the image needs to be compressed in usual situation. The PDF417 storage capacity is much bigger than the general bar code and the image data may be saved in it. In order to accomplish the task, the image data must be limited to the PDF417 storage capacity. So the image compression needs to be carried on to reduce its data quantity.As an essential link, the stock management plays the vital role in the automobile logistics. The application of PDF417 with vehicles picture information in the stock management not only might avoid the problems such as data repetition and wrong input in the process of manually managing, but also can enhance the stock management efficiency. And the use of PDF417 can strengthen the information secrecy and implement the real-time track.This article consists of two major parts. One is the research on color still image compression and the other is the design of stock management system based on two-dimensional bar code and image compression technology. First, the article introduces the basic knowledge and the development condition of PDF417 and the image compression. Second, it in detail describes the development, application, coding and decoding system of the still image compression standard JPEG2000.And then the color still image compression and how to store still image information in PDF417 have been studied. Finally, the stock management system based on C/S mode has been designed.
