| Recently, the technology of image measurement has been a new focus point of research in measurement field. It is based on optics and combines with photo electronics, computer technique, image processing technique and other modern technologies to integrate with photonics, mechanics, electronics and arithmetic for making up a comprehensive measuring system.Based on computer vision theory and image measurement technique, an auto image measurement system for sheet metal template is presented in the paper, which can measure sheet metal templates by automatically tracking the templates'edges.Firstly, the system's hardware is designed, in which three parts are involved: image collecting system, motion control system and mechanical system. The image collecting system consists of a measuring microscope, an image collecting card and a CCD camera. The motion control system consists of a personal computer and a motion control card. The mechanical system consists of a three-coordinate machine which is driven by stepper motors.A new vectorization method for sheet metal template image is presented in the paper. An edge tracking method is proposed with which the system can control the CCD camera to move along the measured template edge by the motion control card.The system's software is designed according to the principle of modularization and developed in VC++ 6.0 IDE. After calibrating the system's CCD camera, actual measurement is performed. The results meet the requirement of sheet metal template measurement. |
