Investigation Of The Technology Of Chinese Landscape Painting Rendering

In the field of Non-Phoptorealistic rendering, it is an important research field that simulating Chinese-painting style by computer. As the attractive and particular artistic fascination of Chinese painting, this field has attracted many researchers to join in the study of this field. At the same time, it is the demand of developing Chinese excellent traditional art that investigating how to rendering a Chinese-painting-style image in computer. However, as the particular artistic characteristic and unique representation technology, compared with west painting, Chinese painting Computer simulation is very difficult.In this paper, I analyse the difference between Chinese an west painting scientifically, and systemically introduce the particular characteristic, the tool and material, and the representation technology of Chinese painting. I introduce several methods used in Chinese painting simulation, especially a method that adapt to automatically generate a Chinese-painting-style image-- Image-based Synthesis method of Chinese Landscape Painting, As this method have some disadvantages, in order to overcome these disadvantages, based on this method, I propose a improved method–Texture-synthesis-based rendering of Chinese Landscape Painting, and introduce the rendering process of this method in detail. I also introduce detailedly the basic theory and method of texture synthesis, which is a crucial technology in my method. And based the synthesis method of Ash2001, I make some improvement for it, propose the searching method of inverseing texture image. Using this searching method can remove the seam between two texture blocks occurred in the method of Ash2001. In this paper, I also introduce the technology of ALPHA blending, which is another crucial technology in my method, and propose a general formula that compute the ALPHA blending parameter of any pixel.Based on the methods proposed in this paper, I develop a system for rendering Chinese landscape painting. By this system, user can convert a digital landscape photo or a hand-drawing picture to a Chinese-painting.-style image.
