Educational Modes Of University Library Under The Network Environment

Library education rooted in library science and education have brought active force to Librarians searching new functions and values for themselves in the age of network economy, education of university library still had some puzzling problems in theories and practices. The author defined library education and designed the mode of education of university libraries'on the basis of studying correlative contents of library education, and investigating actualities of users'demands, users'utilizations and libraries'education, wishing the research can be beneficial to practices of libraries.Firstly, the author believed the concept of libraries'education; the main educational function of the university library must be identified. Secondly, the author investigated actualities of users'demands, users'utilizations of libraries'education under network environment in order to understand the level of libraries'education in our country. It was proposed libraries should emphasize educational function so as to make the society pay attention to libraries'education; love knowledge, realize the value of knowledge through the development. Finally, the author designed a library education mode under network environment through the information management principle. This system of libraries'education had five basic elements: libraries'education users, educational information platform, libraries'education providers, educational information resource databases and educational information production. They constituted a dynamic system. During the libraries'education process, the keys are application of information technique, construction of educational information resource databases base and service quality control. In addition, corresponding countermeasures should be made, such as share of information resources, share and co-construction of the libraries'education system, improvement of the quality of libraries'education providers and education consciousness, methodological innovations of libraries'education.In conclusion, the educational mode of university libraries in China still has a lot of pro, and can't meet the needs of users. But they are developing towards the direction of libraries'education .Our libraries should take actions to adapt this trend.
