Today's Network is developing in the form of broad-band and integration. First, along with the development of the Network transmission technology, especially the FDDI transmission technology become usable, the transmission speed has rapidly raised from middle&low-end rate to middle&high-end rate. Secondly, as the trend of integration of 3 networks is enhanced, people need more sevices, Network should afford different kings of network services such as voice, data, multi-media, etc. Thirdly, As the network scale is rapidly expanding, the problem of IPv4 is on desktop, the next generation network will use IPv6. Today's Network will change from IPv4 to IPv6 in a long period.Network Access equipment is facing new challenge, as the integration of Network sevices and new service. It not only need to do fast process for data and services, and also should do complex and deeper intelligent process, it also should meet the need of current and future network environment.The Integrated Broadband Access Controller is designed by Institute of Acoustics Chinese Academy of Sciences and Linkage Technology Nanjing. It runs on China Next Genaration Internet, it based on dual-IXP2400 hardware and embedded Linux Operating System, can support different access mode and both IPv4&IPv6 protocol stack, it also realizes the seamless intergration between different access network and core internetwork.For the sake of multi-access way and technology in the network access level, different user can share the same core internetworking resource, not only provides the common experience of using network, but also decreases the investment of telecom provider sharply in the field of access network, especially the investment on operating and management.The concentration of this paper is design and implementation of Access Controller's ACL function. After introduce Network Processor, whole design will be detailed analyzed, including hardware&software platform, Operating system, etc. Then ACL funciton module, including design flow, thinking, interface design will be detailed analyzed, the whole implementationo of ACL will be given. At last a operatable and function test for ACL, will be run in the real environment. The thinking and the process showed in this paper can be applied to many applications such as network device design and embedded system.
