As the technology develops, GIS plays a more and more important role in the economy, airborne remote sensing has the advantage of collecting information. The combination of them destines to have a good future.This paper mainly does researches on the development of video processing and GIS which are based on airborne remote sensing. Considering that video is a very important kind of information of airborne remote sensing, the paper talks about the key technique of video processing and establishes the image processing system. Firstly, we design the Image grabbing module and video storing module, then we do researches on image filtering in order to enhance the information and give the analysis and implementation of image zooming and video replaying.The paper focuses on the development and implementation of GIS. Firstly, we discuss the software platform of GIS and indicate the functions of MapX, file format and indexing method of MapInfo. Secondly, we illustrate the conversion between WGS-84 coordinate and Xi'an-80 coordinate, then we talk about how to produce the digital map of our GIS. The GIS is composed of some modules, such as map operation module, information query module, layers control module, target display module and navigation module, the implementation of them will be presented at length in the paper.Basing on the purpose of application, we design a console for both image processing system and GIS, this paper presents its principle and focuses on the implementation of communications module.
