With the rapid development of military electronic technology, Electronic War (EW) plays an important role in modern war. Radar is faced with the threat of Electronic Counter Measurements (ECM) such as counter radiate missile in modem EW. Passive localization which works in passive mode is the main direction of the development of localization method and makes localization system better. It has many advantages such as more function distance,concealment receive,being hard detected and so on. Passive radar based on non-cooperative illumination has been concerned and deeply researched by many countries for its special advantages.In this dissertation, several technology problems of passive localization based on pulsed non-cooperative illumination are discussed, such as parameters extraction,direct wave restrain and multi-platform localization algorithm and the design and implementation scheme of the system is introduced. Firstly, background of passive localization technology based on pulsed non-cooperative illumination is introduced. Pulsed radar signal is presented for pulsed non-cooperative illumination is used in this paper, chirp is analyzed as example and the difference between the ambiguity function of pulsed non-cooperative illumination and other non-cooperative illumination is analyzed later. Then, the extraction methods of Time Difference of Arrival and Doppler Difference Based on pulsed non-cooperative illumination are discussed and the problem of direct wave restrain is deeply analyzed. The result of simulation indicates that adaptive cancelling is a useful method for direct wave restrain. Then an improved variable step adaptive filter algorithm is presented and theory analysis and simulation result indicate this algorithm has many advantages and can restrain direct wave well. After parameters extraction, several multi-platform localization algorithms are presented and the precision of localization and its affect factors is discussed. Later, the design and implementation scheme of the system is introduced including hardware and software and correlative results of design is presented.At last, the conclusion and forecast are drawn in the dissertation.
