Currently, TMN is widely applied to the telecom network management of our country. With the development of technology of the computer, more and more mature computer technology has been applied to network management: The traditional Q3 interface can't meet telecom network management's requirement any more, and the combination of CORBA technology and TMN has already become hot in nowadays' telecom network study; XML technology is playing a greater role as well in the process of network management telecom because of its own characteristic. This paper mainly investigates the design and realization of Performance Management of GPRS mobile network management. Performance Management is one of the five major management functions of TMN. The purposes of Performance Management are as followed: monitoring the performance of the network, network unit or network equipment; gathering related performance statistics; remarking the validity of network and network element; reporting the state of the telecommunication equipment; supporting the network planning and network analysis. Its main function includes management of performance task, collection of performance data, analysis of performance statistics and alarm report of performance etc.Firstly, this paper introduces the background knowledge of GPRS mobile network management. Then describes the technological characteristics of CORBA and XML and discusses their application in GPRS mobile network management. According to the characteristic and requirement of GPRS mobile network management, the paper puts forward the overall structural design of GPRS mobile network management, the function design and the class design of Performance Management. Finally, the paper provides implementation method of the key parts of Performance Management, which includes: CORBA is adopted as the soft bus within the system; the performance statistics is collected by XML file with FTP+MML as transmission protocol; Xerces-C++ is used to parse XML file, and ACE multithreading is used to simultaneously process of performance statistics.
