Research Of Embedded Multimedia Terminal Based On PXA270

With the fast development of the information technology, especially the development of the light-communication and network technology, the multimedia electron products relate more and more tightly with people's life. Because of the network-transfer rate of wireless communication improving, personal information management(PIM) terminal and voice communication service terminal are being integrated, which final becomes a new generation mobile terminal with more powerful function. These kinds of devices have many functions, such as communication,PEVI and entertainment etc. The device, with functions of,PIM and entertainment , utilizes adequately the software and hardware of resources , provides convenience interface to user, and now becomes the important researches in using and popularizing mobile terminals. Base on analyzing the status of multimedia terminal, the article analyzes and studies the multimedia terminal of PXA270. So the article accomplishes mainly from the following facets:Research on the hardware system of multimedia terminal. The processor adopts the Xscal Frame PXA270 of Intel Company. The whole pattern is kernel board and extends interface board. It analyzes the characteristic of Xscale Frame, and the strongpoint of PXA270 processor. Base on this , it analyzes the system of power-supply module,SDRAM interface circuit module,network interface module,audio and touch screen circuit module and RTC real time clock sircuit.Research on the software system of multimedia terminal. Firstly, it builds translate and edit cross circumstance on personal computer, uses saddlebags like gcc,glibc,binutils and so on. And then, it studies Linux standard kernel of 2.4.21 edition. It configures kernel bases the system hardware flat roof, analyzes Bootloader system to lead load process, and reduces the document system bases the 32M of Flash that the system extents.Research on realizing the hardware equipment drive under the Linux. PXA270 within LCD controller, completes the communication between CPU and LCD through replacing the ROM as FB , and completes the audio drive through connecting the AC'97 Codec DAC to the outside of AC-Link. It chooses photograph with OV511 chips supported by Linux, in order to realize the video transmission.Lastly, it analyses the excellent embed C++'s GUI SDK Qt from Troll Tech Company, and realizes the transplant in the system. It studied QSocket and QserverSocket Class found on TCP which is supplied by Qt, so as to finish network transmit software design bases on the Qt client and sever.The article studies the Linux system and the researching of Linux drives, which has reference meanings and practicality value in researching the embedded system.
