The Design And Implementation Of ISUP Protocol Conformance Test Simulator System

Integrated Signaling Analyzer is a multi-link and multi-slot testing analyzer system. It can be used for protocol analysis and protocol simulating. Both No.7 signal system and A-interface are supported. And it supports protocol consistency testing, system performance capability testing and great traffic testing well.I was in charge of the design and development of ISUP protocol conformance test system in this project. Based on the project, my paper gives a brief introduction to SS7, especially the ISUP firstly. Then it describes the design and implementation of ISUP protocol conformance test system in details. The design and implementation of embedded simulator of ISUP is also described. Finally, it gives an introduction to the test of the project and gives a summary.As a part of the Integrated Signaling Analyzer, ISUP protocol conformance test system is consist of high-level part and embedded part. The high-level part runs on Windows, developed with Visual C++ 6.0. The embedded part uses Motorola PowerPC 8260 as the signal connecting processor and runs on VxWorks. We introduce Trillium SS7 as the base platform of No.7 Signal System for the embedded part. All our work of embedded part is based on it. The ISUP protocol conformance test system is able to execute 106 test cases according to related international and national standards.The embedded ISUP protocol simulator is designed as a toolkit for the Integrated Signaling Analyzer. All of its modules run on Motorola PowerPC 8260.
