With the rapid increasing of computer system integration level, the performanceof the computer system has notable improved. Meanwhile, the improved performanceaccompanies with large amount of energy consumption. Cache plays a vital role onreducing performance gap between microprocessor and main memory. At the sametime, Cache is also one of component that consumes energy seriously. People designa lot of low-power Cache structures for Cache power problem in computer system.Dynamic poweradaptive is a technique that studied by many people at present. Itis a thought that hardware resource can be configured when program is running.Based on the hint information, the hardware can adjust the size itself. So the systemcan always provide the service to the application with the most appropriate orrelatively appropriate hardware resource, and didn't lose performance or lose very. The sliding Cache is a Cache structure that based on the dynamic poweradaptivetechnique, which need not software to provide the hint information. The current cacheinformation is totally collected through the hardware at the fixed time slot, which isused to determine the best configuration of sliding cache at the next time slot. In thisway, the system can save power. In this paper, an improvement sliding cache is suggested, where the cachemiss_rate is used to determine the function of sliding cache. The simulation resultsshow that the improvement sliding cache has lower miss_rate and cache power thanthe original sliding cache. Miss rate of cache and cache power can be reduced by2.93% and 3.48% respectively.
