Tang Hui Yao is the earliest extant institutional record of a reign body history book in our country. The book has 100 volumes and records the political, military, economical as well as cultural systems of the Tang Dynasty. At first Su Mian compiled the book in the Tang Dezong times. After that, in the Tang Xuan zong times Yang Shaofu and other historians continued to compile this book. Finally, until to the early days of the Song Dynasty Wang Pu completed the book. The contents of the book are rich and many historical records are valuable and can not be found in other books. It is an important historical book of studying the Tang Dynasty and especially it recorded the evolution of every social system after the Tian Bao period of the Tang Xuanzong times. It is the beginning of compiling "the institutional records of a reign body" and sets the example to later generations to emulate.About the research of the Tang HuiYao, senior scholars have already done much work, but there also have the space to continue to study for a deeper and more comprehensive understanding. This thesis is on the basis of former scholars' research achievements. By using the method of history, the literature study and the correlation discipline theory, the article intends to summarize the former research achievements about the Tang Hui Yao, inspect the authors and the compiling process of the book, discusses its editions, the content style, the academic value and status, and finally inspect the historical thought of Su Mian and correct some errors in the book.The thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter elaborates the making process, main compilers, the problem about the name of the book, the circulation editions. there are more details on the compiling process of and the relations among Hui Yao, Xu Hui Yao and Tang Hui Yao, The second chapter focuses on analyzing the structure and the content of the Tang Hui Yao, and makes some analyses on aspects of Tang society based on the record. The third chapter analyzes the historical data value of the Tang Hui Yao and the achievements in historical compiling study;The fourth chapter elaborates historical thought of Su Mian, discusses and introduces former scholars' reviews on this book, and simultaneously makes a summary of the former scholars' books of correcting errors to this book. |
