Traditional endoscopy makes patients with alimentary tract disease uncomfortable. Especially for the focus of small intestine hemorrhagic disease, traditional endoscope is difficult to reach, and even though the traditional endoscope could be capable to reach, on the insert process it may bring terribly pain to the patient. As a result, many patients are in dread of this kind of vulnerable endoscopy and even give up checking, which makes diagnoses more difficult. Capsule endoscope, passes alimentary canal safely, shoots tens of thousand pictures after taken, can complete the examination of small intestine pathological without pain, and it also brings a new method for the doctors to diagnose alimentary tract disease.At present capsule endoscope does not support real-time diagnosis for its inherently poor designment, and it is so expensive that only few people can afford it. In this paper, we developed a new portable, low cost module in out-body image data transmission with extremely high speed based on USB2.0 technology.This paper starts with real-time image data transmission, and puts USB2.0 technology through the whole designment. An USB2.0 firmware and an accordant USB2.0 driver are designed. Both of them provide an extremely high speed in image data transmission. In this designment a DSP that works on high frequency is also used to control image data transmission between the newly designed module and the image workstation. Both of the hardware circuit and accordant software are designed to make the whole module work steadily. In order to offer doctors a simple operation platform, we designed a client software on workstation computer which provide a lot of applied functions for diagnosis, for example, image read, image display and image storage, etc. The result of tests indicates that the out-body image data transmission module provides a high speed in image data transmission cooperating with the USB2.0 firmware and driver, and the client software on workstation computer can successfully reads the image data and offers an convenient interface for diagnosis. Both of two methods for image storage can save images to meet different diagnosis requirements. All of these primary fruits have provide a solid foundation for the future study of capsule endoscopy.
