Researsh On Banknote Currency And Currency Identification System

At present, multiple kinds of currency are in circulation around different countries and regions over the world, it will be inevitably for shopping mall, banks and other places to handle the work of how to identify and separate these different currency type and value. The article makes a research on the Identification System to currency type and value of banknote towards RMB, US Dollar and Euro Dollar, which are the most influential currency in the world wide.The image preprocessing is necessary in the banknote identification system which includes image denoising, gray processing, image segmentation and correction etc. This article systematically argues four methods for image segmentation– bimodal method, iterative algorithm, Otus method and Maximum Entrop. And describe their corresponding effect chart separately.It processes banknote identification according to the figures of serial number and their different location placed on the banknote. When doing vertical projection to the complete area of serial number on the banknote, the interval projection between the adjacent characters is placed exactly in the place of wave through, it then bring up a new method to identify the target figure number on the basis of projection method. The identification to the currency value is mainly to identify the number on the image of currency which uses the identification algorithm on the basis of feature of figures, this kind of algorithm can be realized under Matlab and gain sound identification effect.The article has designed a hardware platform towards the identification system of currency type and value. Designing the colorized liner CCD (TCD2558D) driving sequence by using the VHDL language, adopting MAX+plusⅡto make simulation analysis, it can be download in to the complex programmable logic device till getting the correct sequence. The colorize liner CCD (TCD2558D) can get simulate signal by scanning banknote, can then be converted into the identifiable digital signal by processing through conditioning and A/D transit circuit, and then these digital signal is sent to DSP for final treatment.
