This paper expounds the conception of interconnected power grids, introduces thefrequency control and control performance standards: A standards and CPS standards.Andalso,this paper introduces their applications and compute methods.The CPS standards areresearched deeply,the demands of CPS standards to control areas are also studied.The North America Electric Reliable Council (NERC) designed control performancestandards CPS1 and CPS2 to replace Criteria A1 and A2 in 1997. Control areas are expectedto be in compliance with CPS standards since 1998. The standards are tried firstly in EastChina Power Grid and FuJian province in 2001. We still adopt modified Criteria A serieswidely. Since the grids condition are distinct in many aspects such as managing system, AGCcontrol mode, grids structure and so on, there are something matter with putting the CPS onthe Chinese grids without profound understanding. For going deep into CPS and studying ona suitable performance standard in our country, an efficient tool is badly in need.The paper introduces some main kinds of power system simulation soft. Different softhave different application areas.Based on the research tenet of the paper, the MATLAB andSIMULINK in it are introduced detailed.The paper analysis all the models in the simulation system based on SIMULINK, such asgenerator, governor,tie-line,and so on. The methods to build these models and the function ofthese models in the system are also expounded.According to the actual condition of interconnected power grids, this paper analysiscoupling mode between generator and generatrix, then makes equivalent transform,makesrevelant models,makes the entire simulation system more exactly reflect the actual situationof interconnected power grids,provides a more reliable platform for further research.
