With the rapid economic development, the scale engineering construction is becoming larger and larger. Meanwhile, the mass concrete arises in quantity in the normal industrial and civil construction buildings. Mass concrete is easy to crack if constructed improperly, because of its huge volume and complicated construction condition., the thermal release speed of the cement is faster, and the cracking will either affect the durability of the concrete structure, or even influence the mechanics performance of the concrete. So avoiding the mass concrete from cracking has drawn the attention of the engineering field of the whole world. The research has indicated that we can control the temperature of concrete to prevent the thermal crack. The task is to find how to measure and control the temperature of the mass concrete.The paper adopts 1-wire bus digital temperature sensor DS18B20, combines short-distance wireless radio technology with GSM short message (SMS) service and presents a full digital monitoring system of temperature on mass concrete based on wireless data transmission. The system can continuously monitor the temperature on mass concrete for full day reliably, exactly in good time so that the builders can control the concrete crack effectively. Meanwhile, it can provide reliable data for the future analysis for controlling temperature and avoiding crack.The paper introduces the significance and research state of monitoring temperature on mass concrete, also introduces relative knowledge and development state about the short-distance data transmission technology and GSM short message (SMS) service; then, presents detailed expatiate on system constructor , hardware and software design. System hardware mostly includes four parts: sensor, data acquisition node, monitoring host computer in field and remote computer. Wireless data transmission adopts PTR2000 wireless module and GSM message module G100. The core of the data acquisition is AT89C51 single-chip, implementing the operation to DS18B20 and PTR2000 wireless data transmission, programmed in ASM; Monitoring computer in field implements temperature monitoring, data storage and remote data transmission and so on, programmed in Visual Basic. At the last, it simply introduces system application in actual project, summarizes limitations present in the system and presents how to improve on the system.
