Research On The NGN Network Security Based On The IMS Technology

Since 3GPP provided IMS in 3G R5, the people have given IMS enormous attentions. From the multitudinous International Standardization Organization to the global correspondence network product supplier and telecommunication operation business, they have been studying IMS and its influence to the next generation network (NGN). IMS already become the development direction of NGN.Comparing with the traditional network, NGN is a network architecture in essence which is different from the previous and the current networks. It is a data-centered convergence network architecture in general. The emergence and development of the NGN are based on the evolution of current network architecture. Because one of the characteristics of NGN is the open style connection increases with the risk increases in secure aspect, therefore in view of network fusion present situation, NGN secure base on IMS is researched in this article. In this paper the basic conception, characteristic, theory of IMS technology and NGN, the development status and trends of NGN technology are introduced. We focus on the architecture, interconnection pattern of the NGN which is based on IMS technology and the application of key protocols of NGN. Then the modern password technology has been discussed, detailed analysis is then devoted to IPSec protocol and IPv6 technology. We built the research environment and takes IPv6 as turning on and loading network. Finally, using the network security model of NGN, we approached authentication and authorization based on SIP protocol and the security solution based on point to point transmission.
