With the progression of informatics, two-dimension(2D) bar-code auto-identify technic is widely used in logistics, information security and production-line auto-management. The key of this technic is reading the information in the 2D bar-code pattern automatically by identify system. So, bar-code marking system and identify system are the key equipments in application. The thesis aims to develop a marking system based on Data Matrix 2D bar-code, which is expected to improve the behindhand status of equipment-developing at home. The system is able to mark 2D bar-code pattern and multi-type characters on the surface of produces quickly and accurately. It has a significant meaning in product information-tracking and product data management. The thesis has the following six chapters.In the first chapter, the auto-identify technic, especially the bar-code technic and various marking systems were introduced. The 2D bar-code technic and air-drived marking system were emphasized. This explained the significance of the thesis.In the second chapter, strong and weak points of different kinds of 2D bar-code were compared. By having done that, Data Matrix 2D bar-code was confirmed as the research object for its high information density, powerful error correcting capacity and etc. In order to solve the key problem of the design, had done some research in encode principle and pattern rules.In the third chapter, the function of the marking system was introduced. It proposed that the key of marking 2D bar-code pattern and characters was obtaining the buildup dots' coordinates. The method and process of program design based on the pattern principle were explained, which solved the key problem of the design.In the forth chapter, the hardware platform of the system was designed. The design method of mechanism and controller was explained; especially the software and hardware work on controller. The sample marking system was finally built.In the fifth chapter, marking experiments of Data Matrix 2D bar-code pattern and character pattern were done, in order to prove the design scheme. Also, scan equipment was shortly introduced as a complement.The conclusions and expectations took up the sixth chapter.
