| In order to succeed in the increasingly fierce market competition, today's companies have shorten time-to-market of products, while they also should maintain products' high quality. Moreover, the increasing of the product's complexity and the adoption of the new product development patterns has brought great challenges to product development management. A good product development process model which can exactly describe product development processes and information flows is badly needed for the better understanding, analysis, improvement, and management of product development. Thus, with the advantages of formal semantic definition, visually graphical expression, firm mathematical foundation and description based on state, the Petri net is applied to model and optimize the product development process.This dissertation describes the product development process based on Petri net and workflow theories, and it sets up hierarchical model based on the theory of refinement, giving a father and four son Petri net models. Analyze the structural correctness (reliability) of the product development process model, giving the whole process which analyze the reliability of the model. For the performance evaluation of product development process system, it analyzes the performance parameter of the system quantitatively, such as mean work time and resource utilization rate, based on Generalized Stochastic Petri Net theories. Particularly it analyzes that under the condition of resources is not ample, the need of each resource ability, then the emulation computed the minimal resources quantity that each resource need, and make resources can reasonable allotment. |
