LCD screen multimedia players in the advertising industry has become a new business model, we often can see its in some buildings, shopping malls and supermarkets, etc. Judging from the current situation, most media companies take a single machine and cycle playing measures in using such indoor advertising LCD screen multimedia players. So, it must bring a lot of inconvenience in terms of cost and operation. In this paper, which presents a cyber-multimedia player system based on Sigma EM8624 chip. This system has network management capabilities, it can basically meet the requirements of the market.In this paper, it has constructed the Client/Server architecture that has good controlling and interactive features. The client software controls the multimedia players, at the same time, the controlled information has been stored in the database server. When the player receives orders, it will be initiative to download contents to the local hard disk through FTP protocol. The player is based on the embeddedμClinux operation system. The hardware is based on the EM8624 chip of Sigma Designs in United States and the server using windows operation system. The entire network uses B/S structure.In this paper, it has studied the application of the Sigma EM8624 chip which is based on ARM7TDMI kernel. And have simplified and transplanted theμClinux. On the basis of these researches, I studied the working principle of the Bootloader and proposed the solution of automatic upgrades embedded system. I have done well the TCP/IP communications between the clients and the players with the experiments, what's more, I have implemented the storage method of database through Web Service on the server-side , which can really achieve a function to remote control the terminal. In the final paper, I summed up the works and prospected the application of this system.
