| The Video-On-Demand(VOD) system is a network system including hardware and software, the characteristic of which is transmitting multi-path, concurrent video data-stream from video server to client at real time. It offers interactions with end users to various extents. VOD is a synthesis technology that has been developing rapidly together with computer technology (especially digital multimedia compression and decompression) , network communication technology etc.. Widely used in different domains such as long distance education, digital library, news on demand, E-trade, TV on demand and etc., VOD is showing of great value at practice.VOD system nowadays mainly adopts a scheme in which IP STB is separated from TV. This scheme implements VOD functions, with the disadvantage of inconvenience and costliness. The future will see a mainstream of integrated terminal scheme with TV and IPSTB incorporated.In this thesis, a new LCD-terminal integration scheme is put forward, which is based on EM8624L by Sigma designs. This design transcends all present design available, and will have a magnificent prospect in Hotel TV business. |
