| In recent years, with the development of communication technology, mobile Ad Hoc networks have been used more and more widely in many fields. The route seeking is a key and vital point in the research and application, in which the routing algorithm is one key technology.The Zone Routing Protocol (ZRP) of mobile Ad Hoc networks is a hybrid routing protocol, which has the advantages of both the Proactive Routing Protocol and the Reactive Routing Protocol. In this paper, the Ad Hoc networks and the existing Routing Protocols for Ad Hoc networks are introduced. This paper deals with Zone Routing Protocol and the algorithms. Simulations of the Zone Routing Protocol were made using OPNET Modeler.Analysis of the relationships between the routing zone radius and the network performance was made in this paper. According to the simulation results, the performance of ZRP has relation with the routing zone radius parameter values, and the method of using a fixed zone radius value limits the applicability of the ZRP. This paper combines route-radius adaptive algorithm with ZRP. The simulation results show that: we proposed algorithm outperforms the traditional ZRP which has shorter end-to-end delay and less overhead, and enhances the stability of the network performance. |
