Acoustic Doppler current velocity measurement technology has important significance for exploration the new way of ocean velocity measurement technology.The principle of acoustic Doppler current velocity measurement system is discussed in this thesis. This thesis studied the measurement methods of frequency in signal processing used in testing Doppler log's velocity. Comparing several kinds of commonly useful methods' estimation bias, mean square error and operation amount by the simulation of computer, it proved that the Complex-Correlation Method has more advantages on estimation. The hardware and software are particularly introduced in this thesis. The single-chip computer MSP430F149 with ultra-low power consumption is used as the control and processing core of the system. A number of special integrated chips for automatic gain control, quadrature demodulation and low-pass filter are adopted in the receiving circuits, which make the system more economic, more efficient and more accurate comparing to the traditional analog system. The study will be instructive for the use and realization of Acoustic Doppler current velocity measurement technology.
