| As the development of computer technology and network condition, more and more attention to be paid in the real-time transmission technology of video and audio, which is being widely applied in the field of real-time monitoring and video conference. While, the traditional system of audio and video transmission cannot answer the requirements of some special missions such as fieldwork, military affairs etc. because it is base upon the traditional wire network, using PC as its terminal, or mobile communication network, using smart phone and PDA as its terminal. Both are restricted by the coverage of limited network.Satellite communications has many advantages including a much larger range it covers, a great ability of broadcast and no restriction caused by different regions. While, apparently, Satellite communications has its own defects. Its "broad band" which is just better than its last generation, has many problems including lone delay, a higher error rate and the dissymmetry of band width. Sounds and dynamic images need to transmit a great quantity of data. And in order to meet the needs of higher quality in practical usage, the instant data of audio and video data must be transmitted continually and fluently. Those definitely require a better technique provided by the video and audio transmission System Based on Broad Band Satellite.This paper analyzes the development of Broad Band satellite communications techniques. On the base of BGAN provided by INMARSAT and current traditional design, it designs and implements a new kind of audio and video transmission system , using the potable satellite access equipment to access satellite band network, PC as its central platform and high performance PDA as its terminal. And with a great consideration of satellite communication's features, I compare the current audio and video codec and real-time streaming media transmission protocol, and improve the relevant parts. Based upon DirectShow, this system realizes the capture and playback of audio and video. It uses open source software sdk XviD MPEG-4 as its video codec, use JRTPlib to implement the streaming media transmission protocol stack. The system has passed the final test and has achieved the anticipative design. |
