With the development of the network technology and software technology, Enterprise-level applications are growing in both scale and quantity, the maintenance and monitor are becoming more and more complex. Integrated maintenance and surveillance of these applications, and detecting faults rather than taking action after the accidents is an important direction of network management. In this thesis, the SNMP and JMX, as well as the J2EE architecture, Spring and Hibernate frameworks are detailed, and a type of multi-Tier distributed IT application network management system focused on the SMEs applications is implementated. The thesis takes host, Web application servers and databases servers from which the performance information of the applications can be obtained, as the managed objects, and followings have been realized:First, collect the data of the host servers'hardware and software resources including CPU, memory, disk, traffic of network port, running processes and installed softwares by SNMP, figure out the performance indexes related. Second, collect the data about Web application servers by JMX, such as applications deployed, visitting statistics. Administrator can optimize Web application server's performance by modify the parameters.Third, collect the data of target databases such as the database's drectory structure and linking statistics, by querying system tables through JDBC. Forth, alerts will be triggered to notify the faults in the application based on the user-set threshold, and be sent to the administrator to ask for the adjustment. Administrator, benefit from this, can be released from the heavy and complex maintenance.
