With the development of computer, network communication and automation technology, the constructing and rebuilding of manufactory and warehouse are developing in automation, network and information fashion. Conveyor belt is one of the important means of conveyance. However, some conveyor belts are still controlled by old consoles which only have basic functions, which cannot meet the need of modern management of warehouse.Focusing on the control of conveyor belt, this paper will constructing a new console platform based on the ARM embedded system. With the high performance of ARM9 and the excellent network capability of embedded Linux operating system, the system will realize functions as below: RS-232C serial interface, Ethernet interface, WLAN communication, LCD display and touch panel. In the system, RS-232C serial interface is used to communicate with the control devices of conveyor belt; Ethernet interface is used to communicate with the control center; WLAN interface is used to communicate with the PDA, which perform the remote control function; the LCD display and touch panel enhance the performance of HMI(Human Machine Interface).The primary part of the control system has been proved practical, which has been tested in the field.
