DVB-H considered by all is the extended application of DVB-T. But it owns the virtues of lower power-cost, stronger capability of mobile-receiving and more excellent anti-jamming performance than DVB-T. And DVB-H is suitable for the mobile phone, handheld PC receiving the signals from digital terrestrial broadcast network.DVB-H mainly solves several problems on account of the combination between DVB broadcasting standards and terrestrial television standards:First, for saving power, it takes the Time Slicing tactic and sends the transmitting stream in pulse mode while not in the continual mode.Second, for improving the mobile ability, it adds 4K transmitting mode based on 2K/8K mode of DVB-T.Third, for providing stronger robustness signals and more effective network programming means, it adopts MPE-FEC in IP/DVB packer, which guarantees the normal mutual access of handheld instruments (esp. the mobile phones ) moving slowly in room or moving quickly outside. This paper introduces the theory and virtues of COFDM and DVB-H at first, then, it describes the FPGA designs of some channel modulating modules and the output interfaces realization on hardware. The channel modulating modules include signals constellation and mapping, OFDM frame structure, TPS modulation, Guard intervals etc. It also analyzes the arithmetic of IFFT and CORDIC charged by the author in detail.
