The design job is divided into two parts, the design of Universal Serial Bus 2.0 device controller IP core and the design of Flash card reader.USB system architecture and transaction protocol are briefly reviewed and a Universal Serial Bus Specification (Revision 2.0, April27, 2000) conforming transaction dataflow model of USB device is constructed. Based on this model the USB engine is designed, including the USB Transceiver Macro-cell and the Serial Interface Engine. The optimization of buffer management is introduced in the paper. And the designing job is simulated and synthesized.Then based on the research of auto-recognize and contactable IC, the Flash card reader is designed in this paper.
