A software-defined radio (SDR) system is a radio communication system which can change the main parameters of the system by means of programmable hardware which is controlled by software. It contains two core ideas, one is to implement almost the whole baseband and I.F. system by digital methods, and the other is to perform the significant amounts of signal processing in a reconfigurable hardware platform implemented by software. Moreover, with the rapid progress of the performance of the programmable device, we can design the above system much more easily and efficiently. Thus, the destination of this paper is to design and implement an all digital Low Intermediate Frequency transceiver of multi-service based on DSP.In this thesis, first, the TMS320C6713 DSP architecture and its development flow are introduced. Later, channels of transceiver are designed with consideration of data format, modulation, FEC and interweaving. Emphasis is placed on theory and implementation of MSK digital modulation and demodulation and its feedforward synchronization, an audio compression algorithm CVSD (Continuous Variable SlopeDelta Modulation) and a FEC technique Convolutional Coding-Decoding. Finally based on these theories and a military frequency-hopping broadcasting station standard, we discuss the solution of our transceiver. The program framework is established and the practical all digital low intermediate frequency transceiver is realized on DSP centric hardware platform.
