Research On Protection Cycles Issue Of Meshed Networks

The aim of this paper is to develop a means of generating pCycles for meshed optical networks. Sometimes some links are not working; pCycles can ensure that the whole network is still working normally by restoring the traffic in the reverse direction around the backup pCycle. There are many pCycles in the network and we need to find the best ones that use fewer sources and are more efficient.This report describes how to implement a Protection Cycles (pCycles) from a meshed optical network to ensure that the network is still functioning even if some links are broken. There are many mechanisms now. This design proposes a new kind of mechanism with which we can find the right pCycle.If more than one pCycles are available. This system will compare them and find the best one.This design is only for theory and simulate the network through software. Users can input an integer number as the number of nodes in the network and the system will produce a network automatically and randomly. Then the program can find all possible unidirectional cycles, all the pCycles, the redundant links and the best pCycles for the network. Because the real network is very complicated, I simplify the network and did not take directional cycle into account. There is only one link between two nodes even if it is not always right in the real world.Through the software, users can obtain the information of the link, cycles, pCycles and the best pCycles and output the result to a txt file.If Users need to analyze a special network, they can also create a text file which contains the information of the network and the system can read the file and perform the pCycle analysis. Therefore this system can produce different networks with different nodes and links. Users can test different networks, as desired.I use Java to implement this project. Based on the powerful function of interface and awt class of Java, this system can make an interface and draw the interface, the information of node link, cycle list and pCycle list. This system has been tested and works well without any error, however some further improvements are still possible.
