As the rapid development of information technology, the need of data exchange becomes more and more intense in companies of all fields, however, the traditional data exchange platform do have many defects, such as difficult to deploy, simple architecture, low efficiency and so on. Those kinds of platform require all cooperators use the same solutions which make the cost of EDI becomes too high and redundant, and if the uses need some new solutions or add some functions to certain department, it means that the whole EDI system must be modified. Further more, the expensive transform software and increased network service will be burdensome to common uses. As a result, this paper attaches its importance on a new architecture and willing to establish an EDI system that easy to manage while performances efficiently.By using many popular technologies in J2EE community such as Spring, JMS and XML, this paper makes many improvements compare to traditional EDI systems and the use of Cache makes it much more efficient. Firstly, the configuration of the system and the integration of all module are all based on XML, XML is not only the carrier of datum during transform but also the core of the whole configuration architecture. In this way, it conquers the disadvantage of difficult to deploy and transplantation in other EDI systems. Secondly, with the use of Spring framework, the architecture becomes simple, developers can transfer their effort from coding to business. From this point of view, the system is easy to maintain. Thirdly, this paper uses ActiveMQ as JMS message server. ActiveMQ is an open source project, it is lightweight with full functions and it is easy to integrate with Spring framework. At last, this paper introduces the Cache mechanism as supplement to EDI system that improves the query performance in large databases environment. Based on the theory mentioned above, the author works out a prototype system and deployed it with the "VTS system of DaLian Port". The system is running well now and has received positive comment, which proves this EDI system is available and reliable.
