There is an increasing demand for video application in wireless environment recent years. As is known, video transmission over wireless channels still faces many challenges due to the time-varying multi-path fading and the characteristic of being sensitive to bit errors of compressed video stream. It's necessary to work out an error resilient transmission method according to the characteristics of the wireless channel to ensure an excellent quality of transmitted video. An improved adaptive 3-D interleaving scheme based on the feedback information of OFDM channels is studied to improve the resilience of the communication. In this scheme each video NAL unit is assigned to different sub-channels in an interleaved way according to the sub-channel condition predicted by the feedback information, which is called frequency domain interleaving. This assignment changes by time randomly, which is called temporal interleaving. Inside of each sub-channel, bit-level interleaving is performed to enhance the performance of channel coding, which is the spatial interleaving. The three above build up the improved adaptive 3-D interleaving. The experimental results indicate that the proposed scheme can dramatically improve the received video quality over wireless OFDM. |
