Wave recorder is the important equipment which can show the status, analyze and process the information in power system. By monitoring and analyzing the real-time waves of the electric quantity in power system, it can accurately reflect the system's practical operation state, and play an important part in preventing, analyzing and proessing the faults.In order to solve the traditional wave recorders' problems that their structure was complicated, displaying function was monotone and data analyzing ability was limited, this portable wave recorder's analysis software based on LabWindows/CVI platform is designed and implemented. In the software, LabWindows/CVI virtual instrument development platform is adopted, and C language is applied for the software modularization development. The software is with better system architecture and greater expansibility, and is easy for future maintenance and further improvement. Moreover it can analyze and process the recorded signals in various methods such as the signal effective value, power, harmonic components, phase angle and symmetrical components and so on. Main achievements are made as follows:1. Analyze the demand of the power system portable recorder, summarize the previous portable recorder's characteristics, application background and shortage, put forward the software system architecture and general design scheme based on LabWindows/CVI virtual instrument development platform, and use multithread technology to solve the system performance bottleneck in practical application.2. Present the algorithm and its implementation of the power system portable recorder's analysis software in detail. And design and realize the software functions inculding UDP(User Datagram Protocol) communication, sampling, wave recording, file storage and management, interface display and so on.3. Make some special functions, such as GPS timing trigger, COMTRADE file conversion, file search and file shearing, come true.The field experiment indicated that the analysis software can provide these functions of data transmission, real-time data displaying, recorded wave setting, recorded files analyzing and processing. Moreover, the software is with many properties such as flexible interface and wave editing. It can not only meet different testing fields* requirement through changing the software configuration without changing the hardware environment, but also has extensive application in scientific research, test andproduction field on power system relay protection, excitation properties, switchingproperties.
