Design and application of an automatic control system for inertia-variable high-speed rotor tester is one part of the high-speed rotor tester's reformation project from the national key subject chemical machinery in Zhejiang University. Its goal is to realize the automatic control for the high-speed rotor tester and eliminate the defect of the manually handled control system including the bad stability and the difficulty of getting the whole test data.This project is related to many fields such as machinery, motor, automatic control software and so on.First, based on the summary of the manufacture and application of the high-speed rotor tester home and abroad, take the ZUST4+ high-speed rotor tester for example, simply introducing the component part of the inertia-variable high-speed rotor tester, such as the mainframe structure, hydraulic lubrication system, the vacuum system, the electrical control and instrument system. And the working principle of hardware based on the IPC and PCI data acquisition card for the automatic control system is presented.Second, the software function, the total design and the main function module's realization of the automatic control system are described in detail. And it is presented the introduction to the method of using the multithreading and synchronizing technology to realize the harmony and synchronizaton of the three processes, including the rotor speed measurement of the tester principal axis, the damper vibration measurement and the speed control of the principal axis process.Because the controlled object is the high-speed rotor system whose moment of inertia is variable for different rotors, the computer automatic control system indirectly controls through the speed control system of the DC motor. Owing to the complex constitution of the control system and the difficulty to make the mathematic model precise, a new digital PID control algorithm is put forward, which realizes different control according to different phases and conditions. The control problem in the three processes of the speed increasing, speed stabilization and speed descending is solved through the debugging and optimization; the demanded technical index is achieved. The automatic control system designed in the text is applied to the ZUST1 high-speed control system in the laboratory and the ZUST4+ rotor spin tester in the company, realizing good automatic control process.In the end, the characteristic of the finished automatic control system is summarized and the direction to be consummated is pointed out.
