Based on the developing platform of AutoCAD commercial software that is used widely in our country, the Parametric Drawing System of finish machining chart and half finish machining chart for train shaft has been established via VBA developing tool and database technique, accordingly it may predigest drawing process, and reduce the repetitive work, and let user not paint dryly and automatically any longer, and ease thought tiredness, it's more important, and really exert fast and accurate advantages of CAD.This software consists of interface, parametric drawing program and database module. The interface for user is used to connect the program with the database. The parametric drawing program is written by VBA developing tool, in this system, the key parameters are set variables. Via setting the values tovariables, this system searches the data relating to the dimension parameter from the database, and calculates the coordinates of relating points automatically for plotting of standard parts, after which the plotting program is launched, and designs diagram width, the marks of surface roughness,standard marks and label drawing of the title bar, and realizes the function of automatic drawing and label of the items and overcame the shortcoming of AutoCAD. The database is used to store serial dimensions of 2d drawing. Besides, this system is easy to be customized and expanded due to the open structure and component technique.The advantage of adopting database technique lies in making the database and application program separated so that it is convenient to manage the relating data. The application of this system can enhance the efficiency greatly for the designers, and the development of standardization for train shaft further.
