As the third-generation mobile communications system developed rapidly, spectrum resources are becoming increasingly strained. Various potential sources of interference are emerging at a phenomenal rate. In China, different telecommunication operators in different mobile communications system occupy 900 MHz and 1.8~1.9GHz spectrum. With the voice, data business development and the increasing number of mobile users, the nearby 2.5GHz band may be assigned to alternative band. Improper distribution of different network operators, blind expansion of network coverage led to interference between the different systems. Moreover, the various systems using different methods to improve spectrum efficiency multiplexing to increase system capacity brought the same or adjacent interference. In addition, the system still exist multi-path interference caused by radio wave propagation and the effects of by other radio frequency equipment. Wireless interference signal will bring about many issues, such as disconnection, poor call quality, and channels congestion. The 14th meeting of the ITU-R for 3G FDD and TDD system divided 2.5~2.69GHz band. In 2007 October ITU added WiMAX to 3 G family, then WiMAX system can be more convenient to use 249.5 ~ 2.69 GHz band in equipment research and development. As the most likely used third generation system by operators, TD-SCDMA possible uses 2.5~2.69GHz band. This will result in some geographic areas, there IMT TD-SCDMA and WiMAX system of coexistence. As the high-frequency characteristics of the nonlinear device, which will exist mutual interference between the different systems, these may lead to loss of TD-SCDMA system capacity and decline of WiMAX system performance. The research topics are TD-SCDMA and WiMAX (802.16-2004) system coexistence interference in 2.5~2.69GHz band by mainly theoretical analysis and Monte Carlo simulation analysis. The system has some types of interference between base stations, base station and mobile station, as well as between the mobile station. System output is mainly TD-SCDMA uplink/downlink capacity losses and WiMAX signal interference noise ratio performance decline. Finally, the simulation results are summarized by interference solution, given the need for further research. The research project is viable research topic. It not only provides a useful basis for TD-SCDMA and WiMAX system spectrum allocation, but also provides technical analysis reserves for coexistence of these two systems.
