Video traffic modeling is very important to the research of video traffic in the network with statistical properties .In the paper, it introduces typical video traffic model in present, and then designs and realizes a new model based on first order autoregression and a new video traffic generator based on scene switching model. In consideration of the frame from real encoder is a applicating traffic, RTP is generally needed to do the packet processing. The traffic generator designed in this paper realizes the packet processing of the output traffic from the encoder.To the video traffic with the single scene or less scene switching, it adopts self-regression model to do modeling with the video traffic. The method is extracting different frames in the video traffic to constitute a sub-frame sequence, then counting out the static of each frame, calculating the self-regression model's paremetres respective based on the static data, simulating the video traffic with the paremetres, comparing and analyzing the simulated vedio traffic and the real video traffic, and getting the best video traffic which can simulate the real video traffic.For the frequently scene switching video traffic, it uses markovian to simulate the switching among the scenes, and uses self-regression model to modeling inside the scene. The method is adopts second order difference detecion to cut up the scene, then uses k average clustering algorithm to make up the scenes, finally does modeling with self-regression model respective. The video traffic model raised in the paper generates simulated video traffic, and compares the statistical properties of the simulated video traffic and the real one, which shows the simulated video traffic is well fitting.In NS-2 simulator, we apply the video traffic descrip model to the RSVP protocol, and do some measurement analyze with different traffic's relationship with average delay, jitter, obligate rate and bandwidth rate. It provides a reference with RSVP in some network, which is good for QoS and making use of the network resource.
