With the development of the safety consciousness, the demand of video monitoring system is becoming more and more, and the performance is needed much higher. As the front part of the video monitoring system, video capture system has become the bottleneck which prevents from enhancing the performance of system. The way of video capture in tradition hasn`t been able to satisfy the broad need of the high speed video capture currently.At the same time, the traditional video capture system can`t adapt to the diversity of current video format.The thesis introduces a new design scheme and the accomplishment of video capture system the FPGA system which has the function of video capture. This system not only has made full use of superiority of FPGA device in the video processing aspects, enhancing the performance and increasing the flexibility, but also has satisfied the demand of the different video format. The system has the superiority of performance, the design flexibility the ability of clipping function flexibility, excellent integration and so on. On the basis, it analyses the work process of video capture system basicly, then divides the system into seven modules as follows: the ITU-R656 decoding, the video frame buffer, de-interlacing, Video denoising, I2C (Inter Integrated Circuit) configuration, the color space to transform, VGA controller and FPGA configuration.In video capture system, capture of real-time video is the most important. The greatest impact on Real-time system is the part of video processing whose amount of computation is the biggest. It involves video decoding, matrix operation, de-interlacing and filtering denoising. The design of system made full use of the advantages of parallel processing and embedded DSP module in FPGA. Because of adding reasonable hardware acceleration to system, the speed of processing is enhanced and hardware cost is saved. Finally, the functional verification is done on the system. The results show that the system can meet the requirements of functional and processing time. It has great practical value.
