| Radio network planning is the first-stage of the whole radio network project and plays an important part in the network project. It will directly impact on the input by the mobile operator, quality of service provided by network, and the network's development potential. Therefore an in-depth study is urgent and necessary for radio network planning. As wideband code division multiple access (WCDMA) is a self-jamming system, capacity, coverage, and interference are close correlation, the capacity and quality are directly affected by anti-interference capability. In additional, WCDMA system is also a multi-service system. And then different types of service with different characteristics will bring network different loads. So firstly, the analysis of the capacity of WCDMA under multi-service situation is presented in this paper, the capacity formula of multi-service is introduced, and then the analysis on how those various parameters influence the capacity of WCDMA is given. With a simulation model, a improved call admission control (CAC) algorithm is presented to deeply analyze the downlink of WCDMA. Simulation results show that system performance can be effectively enhanced by the proposed algorithm. The capability of data transporting needs to be improved since data service in mobile telecommunication network increases day by day. The downlink capacity can be significantly improved through introducing high speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) to WCDMA network. In this paper, the technical characteristics of HSDPA are presented, and then the impact of the introducing HSDPA on the coverage and capacity of WCDMA is analyzed. Next, with a simulation model, the analysis of the impact of WCDMA system performance after introducing HSDPA is presented in this paper. Furthermore, how multi-user access impacts on the capacity of HSDPA has also been analyzed. Finally, the mixed planning process of WCDMA and HSDPA is presented. |
