Design And Development Of GIS Platform Of Digital City Management System

At present, the digital city management systems are being built in many cities in our country, in which the GIS technology is one of the most important supports.On the basis of the project "Digital City Management System (DCMS) of Wenjiang district in Chengdu" and the outline of the DCMS, the thesis explains the status and function of the GIS platform in the DCMS, and describes systematically the process of design and implementation of the GIS platform.Firstly, the business process of the DCMS is analyzed, and the construction thought, the overall structure and the network structure of the DCMS are also given. And then, the architecture of the GIS platform in the DCMS is designed. Not only are the relations between the GIS platform and the subsystems in business process platform illuminated, and the function modules of the GIS platform are divided as well.Secondly, the thesis introduces the data production of the GIS platform, and illuminates how to use ArcSDE, the spatial data management engine, to organize, manage and run the spatial data in the GIS platform. While designing the database for the GIS platform, the spatial data, essential to be faced when constructing the DCMS, are abstracted as city part data, grid data and geographic coding data. Based on these, the coding processes of the city part data, the grid data and the basic geographic data are designed in detail. Further, the requirement of the spatial data of the GIS platform is analyzed, and the structures of the spatial data and non-spatial data are defined in detail.Finally, the thesis discusses how to use the popular WebGIS and ArcIMS to design and implement the GIS platform in the DCMS. Based on the business processes of the subsystems of the business process platform in the DCMS, the function modules of the GIS platform are abstracted and implemented in tool form by using WebGIS engine, including the map zoom in and zoom out, the map layers control, distances and areas measurement, and the geographic information query. Meanwhile, from the viewpoint of the whole DCMS, the thesis illuminates the integration method of the GIS platform and business process subsystems.
