Design And Implementation Of VoFR Voice Gateway Based On VxWorks System

Recently packet voice is a new technology that developed quickly in worldwide range. It changes circuit switching that traditional phone relies on into package switching and makes the range of vocal communication larger and the cost less. Some kinds of medias such as data, voice, video will be integrated into a whole named multimedia. And multimedia communication will provide most efficient, vivid and direct information to human being. Researching and developing of packet voice technology is one of the important tasks during the development of our country's information industry. It is meaningful to the economic construction of our country.VoFR is one of the packet voice technologies, which is a technology of transfering voice and data in Frame Relay. FRF.11 that is published by Frame Relay Forum in 1997 is the standard for transferring voice in Frame Relay. Now, a lot of producers, such as Cisco, Motorola and so on, have applied the VoFR voice gateway, which makes VoFR technology widely using.A method of designing VoFR voice gateway is provided according to FRF.11. Author has done some works:1) Analyse the call modes of VoFR——Switch call mode and Trunk.call mode.2) According to the characteristics of the call modes and the Voice system, the new call flows are designed..A great deal of unit test, the system test, the pressure test have processed and the test result express that the whole VoFR module design is reasonable, function stability, credibility, meet the need that the whole speech net closes the software and hardware.In the paper, firstly, the application of VoFR and the key technology of VoFR are introduced. Secondly, VxWorks system is described, on which VoFR voice gateway is based. Thirdly, the software that VoFR relayed on and the method of designing VoFR are introduced. In the end, the process of testing VoFR voice gateway and the result of system testing are provided.
