With recent development in wireless communication and embedded computer technology, The Ad Hoc network is more and more widespread used and applied due to its very excellent performance. Multicast is one of the key technologies and plays an important role in the Ad Hoc network, so how to design an efficient multicast routing protocol that is applied to provide high-quality communication is becoming the international focus of attention. The paper describes the basic conception and knowledge of the Ad Hoc network, and introduces the key technology (multicast routing protocol). We analyzes the classification of the specific routing protocols in the Ad Hoc network, especially the performance of on-demand multicast routing protocol(ODMRP), and presents two improvements for its weak point, the one that is amended is named ODMRP-M.Based on a probability model of node, a new ad hoc multicast routing protocol is proposed. This novel on-demand multicast routing protocol can adjust the period of flood use the prediction of routing state. On the basis of the probability model of node, Markov model is established to predict the state of ad hoc network so that the time of flood and information maintaining the routing of multicast is reduced. The coefficient of performance of channel of network is improved. Because of nonlinearity of wireless signal, the power of node transmitting the signal is optimized using the probability model of node and the limited energy is used effective.Simulation result shows that the ODMRP-M reduces the invalid information used to maintain routing and controls the power of node to save the limited energy. The ODMRP-M improves the quality of communication and is suitable for Ad Hoc network.
