Now the world has already entered the information age, the need for higher efficient production and activity makes people place more and more importance on time, and also urges the mobile communication to develop to a higher level both technically and theoretically. Nowadays, mobile communication has already become an essential part of modern communication.With the competition of communication market becoming more and more fierce, variation competition is now on agenda, requesting the operator to offer their users a network with higher quality and stability. With the boom of mobile subscriber, the radio resource is becoming more and more insufficient, as a result, operators all around the world have to expand their networks unceasingly. Construction period being short, network varies being frequent, and frequency reuse factor becoming smaller are characteristics during the expansion. Besides large-scaled expansion, there are also some small-scaled expansions,network adjustments and update projects, leaving lots of network problems. Developments of economy, varies of city construction and planning can also change the propagating environments for radio wave, making network planning changes and network optimizing necessary.Based on the reasons referenced above, firstly I made a brief introduction about the characteristics of CDMA system in my dissertation, mainly about the performances and the key technologies in CDMA system optimizing, and then combined with the actual network in Binzhou, I collected the information about our base stations (latitude, longitude,PN,Neighbor list,down tilt,azimuth,height), found places with network problems by drive tests, and analysed performances by NEM data (drop call rate,call setup success rate,soft handoff success rate,hard handoff success rate,call block rate,traffic volume and so on ). At last, we made optimizing plans according to the problems we found, generally by parameter adjustments,neighborlist adjustments,PN optimizing, antenna optimizing, base station troubleshotting and so on, then applied to the CDMA network. After these adjustments, performance contrasts were involved. The result indicated that the user complaint rate, call block rate, drop call rate and so like network performances are all improved after optimizing, further proved the feasibility of this subject.
