Researche On ASON And Transport Network Evolution

ASON is a great renovation of Optical Transport Network. It inherits the traditional permanent connection type of SDH. By importing control panel it also fulfills many new functions, such as soft permanent and switched connection types, the construction,restoration,protection and restoration of Mesh Network and automatic resource discovery. Thus ASON greatly enhances the survivability and agility of network,improves network resource utilization,reduces the investment and operation cost of provider. It is the inevitable evolution orientation of the next generation of optical network.Based on the comparation of different resource utilization,network survivability,network extension,network construction and protection mode between ASON network and SDH network, this article deduces and raises network model which meets the demand of progressing service,improves band utility,ensures service security and makes full use of ASON protection model and network construction of traditional SDH network. This article also raises a co-network model of ASON and SDH,ASON import strategy based on existing SDH network.At the same time,ASON has been widely used by foreign operators,but they are all seperated with traditional SDH network.There is still no experience of the smooth evolution from SDH network to ASON network.How to construct ASON target network based on local operator business mode and how to smoothly evolute from SDH to ASON based on present network through step-by-step construction and optimization are commonly concerned right now. This aricle takes some province's mobile business mode as an example,analyses and researches on network evolution method,interworking strategy between SDH and ASON equipments and the establishment of MAN/trunk target network model from multi-angles of view, such as network security,resource utilization and operation feasibility. It anticipates to provide some reference to transport network planner,constructer and maintainer.
