Abstract/Summary:
Reactive power optimization in district power systems is one of the most effective methods to ensure power system operation securely and economically, and an important measure to improve the voltage profile and reduce the net real loss. The study of the reactive power optimization has the great significance in theory and practical application.Reactive power optimization in district power systems is a mixed nonlinear optimization problem with a large number of variables and constrains. Because, the operating variables include continuous and discrete variables, the optimization becomes very complex. As a kind of search algorithm based on the mechanics of natural selection and genetics, genetic algorithm is fairly fit for solution to the problem of Reactive Power Optimization. This paper introduces the development and actuality of reactive power optimization in power system, establishes the mathematical model, studies the flow of solution to reactive power optimization with applied by genetic algorithm, and improves the solution of reactive power optimization based genetic algorithm on base of utilizing features of reactive power optimization, presents full project based improved genetic algorithm with including code mode, crossover operator, mutation operator and termination conditions.The proposed algorithm in this paper is applied to the IEEE-30 bus system, and compares the result of standard genetic algorithm, the results verify that the proposed algorithm enhance the speed of calculation and improve the astringency of algorithm.
