The videoconference system in TianJin education is researched and constructed in order to realize great-leap-forward development of education modernization and raise teaching, research and administration level with modern media of education. The system makes the best of TianJin education broadband MANs for remote meeting, Telecommuting, teaching and research work, shares TianJin educational resource and increases efficiency of administration.First, this article brings forward the investigation aim of videoconference system in TianJin education system, and the background of it, introduces the development and applications of videoconference. Then, the article detailed introduces the standard of videoconference based on IP network: H.320 standard and H.323. The article also analyzed their advantages and disadvantages. This article researches and analyses some key technologies used to videoconference systems, including IP multicast, audio and video encode-decode technology and QoS of videoconference system, etc.The article also describes the implementation of the videoconference system in TianJin education system. A client/server software architecture is adopted. client-side, server-side and communication between parts is designed, stimulatingly bandwidth requirements is computed. In the hardware, The article puts a focus on video processing module, at the same time all the systems are interconnected and connected and each node configuration is researched. After test, the system's function and performance made a good showing, Filled the requirements. At last, the article gives a summary for the research and expectation of videoconfcrence.
