This paper is based on the logistics information-based of Tianjin Port Co., Ltd. Coal Terminal Branch, by which we discuss the problem of bulk cargo port logistics information-based. Given a profound analysis of operation flow, we fall into analyzing and designing the logistics management information system in order to perform its memorizing and controlling function of coal transportation, storage and cargo-handling flow. In this paper, we introduce the status quo of logistics information-based, development trend and the meaning of research. Then we expatiate on the theory of the system, including the method of logistics information system designing, information system infrastructure, system developing method and database theory. We try our best to design the system by following modern logistics theory and modern software engineering criterion. We make requirements analysis of the system and show the vital function of the foundation of logistics information system in the third chapter. Next, we design the port logistics information system by using the combination of EA and IRP. We also fulfill data flow designing, E-R designing, development tools selection, the definition of designing criterion. At last, we finish the design of data dictionary. In chapter 5, we complete the system designing and introduce the subsystem function one by one. Besides, we discuss the key problems during the system development, especially the theory of EA and IRP, technical line fusion, access mode under mixed formulation, database security mechanisms under C/S structure, isomerism data changing technology, making complex data report forms, application optimization method and so on. At the end, we give the summary and experience of developing the logistics information system.
