Dispatcher Management Information System (DMIS) is a integrated information system, which included dispatcher, production, dispatcher business, power system analysis, management, etc. The expanding of power system and the complexity of management have a new demand for DMIS.At the same time,a opening style of modeling offer qualification for designation of DMIS. Unified Modeling Language (UML), a modeling language built upon fundamental OO concepts, is the OMG's Unified Modeling Language.Rational Rose, a classic UML modeling and model-driven development solution, will be used to make a detail design of DMIS.It is a introduction of UML at the first of this papers, including basic concepts and modeling process of UML. Then some patterns in designation of DMIS are expounded. The paper makes a analysis for the architecture of DMIS, which divide the whole system into two part as platforms and business management. Some use-case diagrams are drawed in this paper after the actors in DMIS are enumerated. These diagrams is to help development teams visualize the functional requirements of a system, including the relationship of actors,as well as the relationships among different use cases. The article shows the static structures of DMIS by some class diagrams in the third chapter. It gives a specific analysis by class diagrams for the modules of DMIS, included not only the internal structure of the class, but also the relationship among the classes. Some typical scenes of DMIS are expatiated by the dynamic modeling way of UML, such as sequence diagram, activity diagram. They show the calls between the different objects in their sequence or cooperation. At the last of the paper , a conclusion is drawn for the detail design of DMIS. Some shortcomings are analyzed.
