| With the increasing of scientific research project,the volume of data in scientific research field is increasingly large.The traditional management information system based on on-line transaction processing which is lack of usage of the history data. Therefore,the phenomenon of "date-surplus and knowledge-deficiency" arises. Decision-makers insistently need the tools that can extract the useful information from much data.To solve this problem,the technologies of data warehouse and on-line analytical emerge as the times require.Data warehouse(DW) is a subject-oriented,integrated,time-variant and nonvolatile collection of data to support management decisions.OLAP(On-Line Analytical Processing,OLAP) offers user a view of all angles in order to study the data deeply.Therefore,be based on the development and characteristics of colleges and universities,the technologies of the DW,OLAP and data mining applying to the achievement administrative system,to provide decision support for decision-maker.Firstly,this paper is concerned with the web-based four-tier B/W/D/C scientific research management information system of research and design,including its general function,system architecture,and system hardware and software configuration.On this basis,the scientific research information multi-dimensional data model is given according to the subject and angles that the personnel of scientific research management focus on,including conceptual model,logic model,physics model.And then has used MS SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services to build a scientific research data warehouse.Thirdly,using the data transformation services(DTS),we can input and output data and schedules automatically.At the process of data transfer we can identify,wash,and transform the data.Fourthly,using MDX language and ADO MD as a multi-dimensional data access interface to visit scientific research data.Finally, using Analysis Services as the server of OLAP which provides capability and good performance and programming interface.We implement multi-dimensional analysis, including roll-up,drill-down,slice,dice and pivot etc,and the update of the multi-dimensional dataset by the technologies of DSO,PivotTable Services,OWC and VB.The expression of corresponding operation by graphic is also implemented. The system realizes the function of effective,fast,flexible and multiple-angle analysis for the scientific research data,and provides a foundation for extracting potential knowledge from scientific research data.The application of this system has certain guiding function for the scientific research management's information construction,and provides the decision maker scientific,convenient and timely decision information. |
